1. Basics curriculum and co-curricular activities: The core subjects are taught as per CBSE curriculum. The pattern of CCE (comprehensive and continuous evaluation) has been strictly followed by us. For technical subjects like science, math, and English activity based assessment and practical lessons are. While, co-curricular activities are meant to inspire the students to strengthen their innate qualities and, meanwhile, imbibe in them the qualities like team spirit, tolerance, flexibility and socializing skills. Foster Academy offers room for activities of all genre and types ranging from music, dance, fine Arts, to sports and home science.
2. Core Values: Core values function as the foundation stone of successful life. Our students learn these values in school and grow up to be strong, socially acceptable individuals in future. The basic ethics or tents of core values we impart includes –Broad mindedness, punctuality, honesty, practical approach towards life, and a zeal to acquire knowledge
3. Life skills/Value education: Value Education has utmost importance as it refines the thought process of students and helps them develop a sense of acceptance for social values. Although in the past it was considered as significant as the core subjects to be taught, but for the few past years, value based education had occupied a back seat. With the recent move of the CBSE and NCERT to re-introduce Value Education (VE) into the curriculum has kindled the fire for once more
Some school systems call it Value education, while others introduce the same as Life Skills or Personality Development. Whatever it is, the major focus should be on generating awareness, material development for imparting those skills, teachers’ training and research and innovations in education of human values.
The CBSE had introduced Life Skills for all grades. The concept of Value Based Integrated Learning is where all lessons are linked to some “value” is also implemented. At Foster Academy we abide by the Guiding principles of VBIL and make sure to devote at least 2 hours a week to Life Skills.
The subjects on Life Skills are bifurcated for ease of learning.
